We are informed that BruIPO now requires the owners of existing re-registration patents to notify the Registrar of their intention to switch to the new regime of renewal based on the date of grant of the basic foreign patent. We are in the process of assisting our clients in meeting this requirement.

Additionally, BruIPO has indicated that with effect from 01 July 2015, newly-issued re-registration patents will be compulsorily subject to a term and renewal schedule based on the date of grant of the basic foreign patent.
