An Epic Battle of Heroes vs Villains
Superheroes, reluctant heroes, sidekicks, supervillains, anti-villains, antagonists, avengers etc. in diverse forms all assembled in the ballroom of the Grand Millennium Hotel for an epic showdown between good versus (the not-so) evil. It was amusing to see our regular prim and proper personnel dressed to the nines according to various popular characters.
The evening’s festivities kicked off to a rousing rendition of our corporate song “We Are the People of Henry Goh”. Our Managing Director, Ms Karen Goh gave a stirring speech to thank everyone for an abundant year. After some group photos with animated poses, a buffet dinner was served.
The activities for the night then commenced fast and furious. There were three rounds of staff lucky draws to ensure no one went home empty-handed. In addition, there were special draws sponsored by the directors.
In between, we also participated in various battles between the teams of heroes and villains, which included throwing of Thor’s Mjollnir hammer (albeit a miniature replica version), Predator vs Prey catching game and the most hilarious, a TikTok inspired dance competition.
The highlight of the evening was when both teams performed on stage where the brief was for them to present themselves as Heroes and Villains in the most creative way possible. The Heroes gave a rib-tickling performance of sketch and music, cleverly changing the lyrics to our corporate song befitting a hero’s anthem. Then when the lights dimmed and fog crept across the stage, we knew the Villains really meant business. They performed an enigmatic and energetic dance that garnered the attention of the whole room.
Villains won big that night, nearly making a clean sweep of all the games and prizes. Above all, this year’s annual dinner was important to the company and the People of Henry Goh as it was the first one held since the pandemic era. Everyone had fun that night and what a memorable way to cap off another year of hard work and excellence at Henry Goh.
