The 73rd Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) Council Meeting was held in Busan, South Korea from 14 to 18 October 2022 and was the first international conference in the IP industry in which members could safely attend in-person after the outbreak of COVID-19.

Busan Exhibition & Convention Center (BEXCO), the venue for APAA 2022, is located in Busan’s Haeundae District, which is home to upscale shops, restaurants, and hotels, as well as the scenic Haeundae Beach.

Henry Goh was represented by Ameen Kalani, Director of our Singapore office, as well as Alvin Boey, Manager and Senior Patent Agent, and Hawa Diyana Saim, Patent Agent, from our Malaysia office.

APAA 2022 was certainly a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with our long-term associates as well as meet new associates within and outside the Asian Region as it was attended by 995 APAA members as well as 333 observers from the United States, Europe, South America and Africa.

We were glad to hear from our associates that despite the challenges the outbreak of COVID-19 presented, their businesses were not adversely affected.

Singapore has been chosen to host the next APAA. We hope to see you there!
