This year, APAA was held from 06 – 10 November 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. There were approximately 1,500 registered attendees.
Our Firm was proudly represented by a team from both our Malaysia and Singapore offices. Ms. Oon Yen Yen (Head of Patent and Industrial Design), Ms. Hawa Diyana Saim (Senior Patent Agent), and Ms. Ally Leong (Patent Agent) attended from Malaysia, joined by Mr. Ameen Kalani (Executive Director) from Singapore. The conference provided an ideal setting for our professionals to cultivate new connections and solidify existing working relationships within the IP community.
The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, with the iconic Petronas Twin Towers as its backdrop, served as the main venue. The academic program was particularly strong this year, featuring highly popular workshops on forward-looking topics such as “Artificial Intelligence in Legal Practice” and “Standard Essential Patents,” underscoring the rapid technological evolution affecting the region.
APAA always strikes the right balance between business and pleasure. Delegates took time away from the conference halls to enjoy sightseeing to historical sites like the Batu Caves, the dynamic city of Putrajaya, and other cultural landmarks that highlight Malaysia’s rich diversity.
The event concluded with a memorable Gala Dinner, a fitting celebration of Malaysian culture fused with international friendship.
