APAA Auckland 2017
The 67th Council Meeting of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) was held in the bustling city centre of Auckland, New Zealand. If you venture beyond the urban parts of Auckland, you will find magical, picture-perfect landscapes and coastlines. The incredible natural wonders of New Zealand served as a backdrop of the APAA Conference where thousands of IP practitioners from around the world congregate on a yearly basis.
Henry Goh & Co was represented by our Ms Azlina Khalid (Senior Legal Counsel and Head of Trade Mark Prosecution), Mr Alvin Boey (Patent Agent and Business Development Strategist) and Mr Ameen Kalani, Director of our Singapore office.
It was a great opportunity for attendees to reconnect with long term associates as well as establishing new contacts from around the globe in the backdrop of beautiful Auckland. All credit goes to this year’s Organizing Committee for carrying out meticulous preparations behind the scenes to ensure a memorable and fruitful conference for all attendees in this unique city. The organizing of the whole conference had been excellent from beginning till the end.
The world’s economy has been challenging in recent times. From many conversations and exchanges during the conference, most, if not all concurred that the IP industry has gained momentum in the Asian region despite the unpredictable economic climate. We are confident and remain bullish that this upward trend will continue to gain pace as the world’s economy continues its recovery.
