APAA Okinawa 2015

Okinawa is known as Japan’s very own sea paradise, well known for its amazing scenic beaches. It is considered different from the rest of Japan as its uniqueness lies in its distinctive local customs and historical legacy of the native Ryukyu Kingdom. This beautiful island served as the perfect venue for the 64th and 65th Council Meetings of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA).

Henry Goh was represented by Mr. Ameen Kalani, Director from our Singapore office together with Ms. Oon Yen Yen (Patent Manager and Business Development Manager) and Mr. Alvin Boey from Malaysia.

It was a great opportunity for attendees to reconnect with long term associates as well as establish new contacts from around the world against the backdrop of Okinawa’s breathtaking beaches and its rich traditions. Credit must be given to the Japanese Recognized Group and its Organizing Committee for its meticulous preparations which ensured the attendees had a most memorable conference.

From the many conversations and exchanges during the conference, it cannot be denied that despite the challenges facing the global economy, the Intellectual Property (IP) industry remains active especially in the Asian region. This is especially encouraging and we are confident that the momentum of this upward trend will continue in the many years to come.
