We refer to the e-invitations sent to you in early February for INTA 2020 in Singapore.

As you would be aware by now, INTA has officially announced that the 2020 Annual Meeting will no longer be held in Singapore but will be rescheduled and move to a US city in May/June (to be confirmed) due to the novel coronavirus / Covid-19 outbreak. Please refer to https://www.inta.org/2020Annual/Pages/Home.aspx Based on the guidance of Singapore Ministry of Health, we regret that we are cancelling our INTA events in the best interest of health and safety of everyone.

Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by this unfortunate cancellation, as the global health concerns continue to develop.

We hope to see you at another IP event in the near future. Please take care in the meantime.

Malaysia | Movement Control Order

Dear Valued Clients, Associates and Colleagues

The Malaysian Government has announced an extension of the countrywide Movement Control Order (MCO) that will now be effective from 18 March to 14 April, 2020 inclusive. Throughout this period, all government and private offices as well as businesses shall remain closed except essential services.

The Malaysian IP Office (MyIPO) is closed for the above stated period. The online filing system remains available for at least new applications. Manual filing at MyIPO’s office is not currently possible. Any matters and deadlines that cannot be dealt with by online filing may be validly filed manually once the MCO is lifted.

Henry Goh’s response team of key professional staff are working from home. Although the team are attending to as many matters as possible in the circumstances, there are capacity constraints. We apologize that our responses may take longer than normal. The team are focused on enquiries and urgent matters such as new applications and imminent deadlines. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

At this time all instructions and communication must be sent via email, including electronic versions of critical documents (preferably in the form of colour scans). We suggest that you refrain from sending documents by mail or courier until the MCO is lifted.

We extend our best wishes to all and hope everyone stays safe and healthy. Thank you.

Warm regards

Karen Goh
