Jia Woei has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Genetics and Molecular Biology and a Master’s degree in Medical Science from the University of Malaya.

She worked with a molecular screening and diagnostic company before transitioning into the practice of intellectual property in 2012. In 2015, she was registered as a Malaysian patent agent. She is also a registered Malaysian industrial design agent.

She has been assisting clients in securing patent protection across the life sciences and engineering sectors, specialising in biotechnology, molecular biology, food technology, and pharmaceuticals.

Jia Woei has managed all stages of the patent lifecycle, from pre-filing assessment to post-grant management, covering both technical and administrative aspects. Her expertise includes conducting novelty and freedom-to-operate searches, drafting patent specifications, prosecuting applications, and providing patent validity analysis.

She joined Henry Goh in 2025 as a Senior Patent Agent, where she continues her practice in Malaysian, Brunei and foreign patent and industrial design matters.

Jia Woei has been recognized for her expertise as a recommended individual for patent prosecution in Malaysia by IAM Patent 1000.

She is a member of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA).
