About Ivy Tan
Ivy graduated with LLB (Hons) degree from Aberystwyth University, Wales, United Kingdom in 2018. After some work experience in a conveyancing law firm, she joined Henry Goh in 2021 as a Trademark Executive to expand her horizons in a different area of the law, that is intellectual property.
Prior to this, she had a simple impression of IP but upon joining our robust trademark practice, she soon realized that it is an area that is highly evolving. Given that Ivy joined us at a time when everyone was working remotely and did not step into the physical office until a few months later, this proved an interesting introduction to the firm and IP in general.
Ivy is passionate to learn new things and she has hit the ground running after joining the firm – by assisting counsel with various facets of trademark work, from pre-filing enquiries, searches to prosecution for a diverse range of domestic clients. Due to her mixed heritage and frequent relocation to several states, Ivy is able to adapt to new environments quickly and blend easily into different cultures. Furthermore, her ability to be able to write and speak Mandarin helps to facilitate smoother communication with Chinese-speaking clients and business owners. Ivy is quick, dependable in her work and is highly approachable, due to her warm and generous nature.
Other than doing main operational work, Ivy is also involved in business development, specifically, creating content for the firm’s Chinese language Facebook page, including video editing, translating, etc. Ivy has also been an active member of the organizing committee for company events, such as anniversary celebrations and annual dinners.
As an extrovert, Ivy enjoys outdoor activities, martial arts, sports and travelling solo to meet new people.
Ivy is in active training to sit for the trademark agent examination to become a registered trademark agent in Malaysia in the near future.
