About Dr. Tey Quan Yee
Quan Yee received her Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Chemical Engineering from Monash University in 2021. During her undergraduate studies, Quan Yee developed a strong foundation in process design and engineering analysis, culminating in a capstone project involving the design of an oxalic acid production plant.
Driven by a strong interest in sustainable technologies and clean energy innovation, Quan Yee completed her doctoral research at Monash University in 2025. Her research was focused on advanced semiconductor-based photoelectrodes for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting and emphasised the rational design of high-performance photoelectrodes, with particular attention to tandem cell configurations aimed at improving PEC efficiency and enabling self-driven overall water splitting for clean hydrogen production.
Through this research experience, Quan Yee developed deep technical expertise in material science, electrochemistry and renewable energy technologies, as well as strong analytical and scientific writing skills. Exposure to cutting-edge research and complex technological concepts fostered a keen appreciation for the importance of protecting innovation and translating research outcomes into impactful real-world applications.
With a clear interest in the intersection of technology and intellectual property, Quan Yee transitioned into the intellectual property profession and is now serving as a Patent Scientist at Henry Goh while preparing for the Malaysian Patent Agent examinations.
Quan Yee is committed to supporting inventors, researchers, and companies in safeguarding their intellectual property and navigating the patent landscape with clarity and precision. Recognising that each invention is unique, she adopts a thoughtful and detail-oriented approach to delivering high-quality patent advice.
Outside of professional work, Quan Yee actively trains in martial arts.
