Malaysia, to celebrate the lives of cancer survivors and to remember those who lost their lives in the fight against the disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The People of Henry Goh joined in the fight against cancer with monetary pledges and messages of hope on origami cranes and butterflies in support of the home team, Hope Crusaders, who participated in the Relay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The day of the event, 20 September 2014, was a rainy Saturday but cancer survivors including our colleague, Margaret Hippolyte, started undeterred on The Survivors\u2019 Walk around the track showing their strength in fighting, and surviving, cancer. Henry Goh\u2019s Hope Crusaders took turns to walk the track in the steadily falling rain. The highlight of the event was the lighting of luminaries ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a night of solidarity, fun and festivity, all for a good cause \u2013 to raise public awareness about cancer in the community, to celebrate the lives of cancer survivors, and to remember those who fought and lost the survivors\u2019 race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was quite evident from the faces of the participants that hope ruled the Relay and, hope indeed triumphed through to the end of a rainy day!<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Relay for Life Kuala Lumpur, a 16-hour overnight event, was organized by the National Cancer Society of Malaysia, to celebrate the lives of cancer survivors and to remember those who lost their lives in the fight against the disease.
