The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) in collaboration with the SME Corporation of Malaysia organized the 4th FMM SME Conference 2018 with the theme, “Embrace Change, Invent the Future” on 12 November 2018 at Dewan Mahkota, SME Corp Malaysia, Platinum Sentral.

This conference was attended by more than 170 participants comprising representatives from Government Ministries, various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) , FMM members and SME Corp Malaysia. Henry Goh had the privilege to participate in this conference as one of the sponsors.

YB Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof, the Minister of Entrepreneur Development delivered the keynote address. He addressed the changes to be expected in view of the unveiling of the Industry 4.0 blueprint and emphasized the undisputable importance of SMEs to the national economy.

The highlight of the conference was the lively interaction between the two main panelists, YB Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof and YB Datuk Isham Ishak, Secretary General of the Ministry of International Trade & Industry (MITI), and the participants in two Town Hall sessions. The Town Hall sessions were a great opportunity and platform for both participants and panellists to address the issues and concerns regarding the roles and challenges involving SMEs in the Industry 4.0 framework.

The conference ended on a high note with both YBhg Dato’ Heng Huck Lee, CEO of Globetronics Sdn Bhd and Mr. Rodney Wong, CEO of Munchy Food Industries Sdn Bhd sharing the success stories behind their company’s journey from a SME organization to a global powerhouse and market leader.
